Opinel Knives 01321 VRI8 Knife with Beechwood Handles
By: Dutch Bushcraft Knives
In this engaging review, the massive Opinel No.13 folding knife is put to the test. From the first glance, the No.13 is a machete-like, oversized folding knife that stands out from the standard Opinel lineup. Its strength was demonstrated through various challenging tests - from cutting an apple to chopping down a tree branch. While the knife proved less efficient in splitting polene than a specialized ax, it still managed to perform the task.
However, some minor issues with the lock arose after the intense trials, proving that while the Opinel No.13 is sturdy for a folding knife, it's not specifically designed for heavy-duty tasks. In spite of this, the build quality of No.13 impressed and it has a unique, whimsical appeal being more of a fun experiment by Opinel than a practical tool. Despite its limitations, the sheer enjoyment derived from its usage made it a likable piece for the testers.
